Overview:
Currently, we are planning to incorporate "skills". These will function much like "perks" in Call of Duty 4, in that they will allow you to modify the dinosaur you are playing as to better suit your gameplay. These skills will be mostly small things, for example being able to run a little faster or further (but not both), have a reduced scent, etc. What skills you have available to you depends on what level you are. It will be fairly easy to attain the highest level, so most people will have all possible skills available, however, only a certain number of skills may be used at once (ie: 2 or 3), so players will have to choose between being able to run faster and being able to run further, for example. These skills won't make a huge difference in game balance, so new players that have not unlocked any skills yet will not be at much of a disadvantage (unlike MMORPGs, where a lvl1 player has no chance against a lvl10 player). Balancing will be very important to us, and we may start all players out with a couple perks already unlocked. One such perk that would be helpful to new players would be slightly increased health. |
